Yahoo, parteneriat cu gigantul media WPP

Yahoo Inc. and WPP Group PLC plan to announce a new online ad partnership Friday, to make it easier for the agencies within the ad holding company to buy Web ads. Yahoo will work with WPP agencies to develop technology to connect to Yahoo’s Right Media online ad exchange, an electronic system for advertisers and Web sites to buy and sell online ad space. Yahoo’s relationship with WPP isn’t exclusive. „Yahoo has been, since its inception, a strategic and media partner with agencies. This is an extension of the technology partnership,” said Hilary Schneider, executive vice president of global partner solutions for Yahoo.
The deal is the latest sign of maneuvering among Internet giants and ad holding companies for supremacy in the ad world. In January, Google Inc. and French ad holding firm Publicis Groupe SA announced that they had been working together on using technology to improve advertising. That announcement led to verbal sparring between Publicis CEO Maurice Levy and WPP Chairman Sir Martin Sorrell, who has publicly warned about Google’s growing power.
