Rezultate Apple Q4 2014

Venituri: $74.6 miliarde, in crestere de la $57.6 miliarde in Q4 2013.

Profit: $18.0 miliarde, 38% crestere fata de cele $13.1 miliarde din ultimul trimestru al lui 2013.

74.5 milioane iPhones-uri vandute, 46% cresterea fata de anul precedent. Asta inseamna 34,000 unitati vandute pe ora.

$50 in plus adaugati la pretul mediu de vanzare al iPhone-urilor, adica de la $637 la $687.

$16.1 miliarde venituri doar din China, crestere de 70%. China vinde acum cam cat toata Europa la un loc.

39.9% margine, in crestere de la 37.9%.

21.4 milioane iPad-uri vandute, in scadere cu 18% (era de asteptat ca procentul de inlocuire al iPad-ului sa fie mult mai mic decat cel de la iPhone).

5.5 milioane de Mac-uri vandute, in crestere cu 14%.

$178 miliarde in cash.

1. Pentru Q4 2014:

To put these numbers in context, analysts estimate Google did $66.4 billion in revenue for all of 2014. Apple is going to generate more revenue in a three-month period than Google did all year.

2. Din trimestrul 3 2011 Samsung este cel mai mare producator de smartphone-uri, daca insa vanzarile din Q4 se vor confirma, Apple poate redeveni numarul 1 pentru prima oara dupa aproape 4 ani.

Enter Apple’s new bigger-screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which went on sale in September. Analysts polled by Fortune forecast that Apple sold 66.5 million iPhones in the quarter ended Dec. 27, up 30% from a year earlier. Some analysts expect iPhone sales to eclipse 70 million units in the quarter.

5/ Another market where the reality will not live up to the hype is wearables. The Apple Watch will not be the homerun product that iPod, iPhone, and iPad have been. Not everyone will want to wear a computer on their wrist. Eventually, this market will be realized as the personal mesh/personal cloud, but the focus on wearables will be a bit of a headfake and take up a lot of time, energy, and money in 2015 with not a lot of results.

Probabil cea mai controversata predictie a lui Fred pentru 2015, multi i-au sarit in cap, „cum sa nu fie iWatch-ul un succes, esti nebun”. Well, nici eu nu cred ca ceasul Apple „va rupe” dar astept sa fiu contrazis cu argumente.

Cateva intrebari pentru raspunsurile voastre:

– Cat de mare poate fi piata pentru un astfel de ceas? Definim piata = toti posesorii de ceasuri? Definim piata = toti posesorii de smarphoneuri? Definim piata = toti posesorii de iPhone/iPad?
– Toti posesorii de iPhone il vor cumpara?
– Cum definim daca va fi sau nu un succes? Cate unitati trebuie vandute?
